It is a delicious teatime snack recipe made of spinach, spices, chickpea/gram, and rice flour. In this recipe, the pakoras are not deep fried but made using Air Fryer in just a spoonful of oil are healthy and low fat.
Sprinkle chat masala on the top once the pakoras are air fried makes it delicious.

Ingredients
7 cups baby Spinach leaves. (one whole bag)
1.5 cup Gram/chickpea flour (besan)
1 cup Rice flour
2 Green Chilli finely chopped
1 tablespoon grated Ginger
1 tablespoon lemon/lime juice
1 tablespoon brown/regular sugar
1 tablespoon Fennel seeds (Saunf)
1 tablespoon red chili powder
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon Asafetida (Hing)
Salt as per taste
Chaat Masala Powder, for sprinkling
Directions
- Mix spinach, red chili powder, garam masala, asafetida, lemon juice, salt, sugar, green chilies, ginger, and fennel seeds in a bowl
- Use your fingers to mix all the the ingredients, squeeze the spinach so it leaves water
- Add gram flour/besan, rice flour and baking soda till it forms a dough (no water to be used). Once the dough is formed add oil.
- Refrigerate the dough for an hour before making pakora.
- Brush the Air Fryer basket with oil and put pakoras directly on the basket, just like you do when adding to the oil for deep frying.
- Air fryer pakora at 350 F for 10 minutes.
- Healthy Crispy Spinach/Palak Pakora is ready!
